The company stated that evidence of the theft of personal information from 100 customers was presented to them. This was part of a 200-gigabyte data theft revealed by the company. Medibank serves at least four million customers in total. Clare O’Neil, Australia’s cyber-security minister, described the latest attack as “relentless”. The incident follows recent cyber security breaches at Australia’s Optus and Telstra, as well as technology consultancy Dialog. According to Imperva research, cyber-attacks in Australia increased by 81% between July 2021 and June 2022. At the same time, Australia’s traffic increased only marginally.

● Backup your data
● Having a perimeter security system installed is a very good way to stop cybercrime
● Securing your Wi-Fi networks and hiding them is one of the safest things you can do for your systems.
● Having different passwords setup for every application you use is a real benefit to your security
With the number of cybersecurity threats increasing by the minute, the demand for cybersecurity jobs is also increasing. In fact, there are over 300,000 cybersecurity job openings in the United States.
Cybersecurity is a complex practice, and the most effective way to protect data is through a multi-layered cybersecurity approach that integrates people, processes, and technology.
