DAKSH 2022- BEYOND THE REALM OF REALITY
Daksh as it happened…
From the development of the wheel to the launch of humankind into space, from being a hunter for survival to modern humans buying food from the comfort of their homes, humanity and technological progress are mutually inclusive. What is the reason for the developing world we see today?
If you haven’t guessed yet, the human brain’s insatiable desire for technological development has made the world closer and connected. Now let’s get into Daksh 2022 to have a feel of South India’s second biggest tech fest to understand the big impact of lifestyle being highly integrated with technology.
Daksh, the techno-management fest of SASTRA University with its theme being “Transcending Reality” to explore the areas perpetually looking to create experiences that enable us to solve the challenges of today. Armed with the theme this year Daksh played as host to numerous multidisciplinary hackathons, assorted workshops, exciting events, proshows and excellent power talks which guaranteed to be inspiring, impactful, and most of all, enjoyable. The only requirement for Daksh 2022 is to brace yourselves for a neural rush.
The eve of Daksh started with lots of excitement and enthusiasm to see the vivid and vibrant moves of the “Skeleton Crew” during the night. Starting the next morning with the extravagant inauguration, Daksh 2022 was flagged officially. On that day, “Power Talk” was held by Dr. R. Anantharaman, CEO, FIRST-TBI, about NFTs, Blockchains and Hyper realistic VR environments which are the digital assets of the future. The next day, a virtual conference with Dr. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, and Dr. S. Vaidhyasubramaniam, Vice Chancellor, SASTRA University, gave a bright speech about future VLSI design and digital systems. It is a globally demanded domain in which everyone is invested now. “Power Talk” plays a major role in helping students to think innovatively and paving a pathway to their future.
Moving on to the technical presentation — Hackathon, for which the problem statements are presented by esteemed organizations, who were looking for students to provide a practical solution to real-world problems. The topics for the hackathons were holistic, ranging across multiple disciplines, which guaranteed certificates and awards. The inquisitive students of our college showed their full dedication towards the workshops that were conducted. It was a congress of brilliant minds from our university and the guests of honour from across the country. There were insightful power talks given by renowned chief guests and, yes, by our very own VC too! We brought in young entrepreneurs from a few organizations to share their precious knowledge. And not to forget, The Big Tech Debate, which was an exciting event which was all about exhibiting whizz-kid brains and tickling intellectual nerves. Moving from the technical side, we had the perfect show with Mr. Karan Singh, the world-renowned magician, mind reader and illusionist, bringing his mysticism.
As a huge platform for students to showcase their technical prowess and management skills, this techno-management extravaganza gets bigger and bigger with each passing year. As Daksh 2022 proudly presented unique events with thousands of participants, await Daksh 2023. Until then, Adios!
